On the occasion of the 31st anniversary of the excavation of the Tunnel of Hope, on July 30, 2024, the exhibition “Transformation: From Land to Shelter, from Shelter to Memory” was set up at the D-0 ARK Facility. The exhibition opened on July 24 and remained on display at the facility until early September 2024.

The exhibition offers a unique presentation through documentation, plans, photographs, and 3D objects, illustrating the transformation of earth with wood and metal into salvation for an entire city—and the country itself. Alongside exhibition panels, a symbolic tunnel was featured, constructed from original structural elements and measuring 8 meters in length (the total length of the Tunnel of Hope was 800 meters).

Alongside the tunnel structure, the exhibition also featured special earth spheres created using the dorodango technique, made during a workshop that brought together three groups of people: those who built the tunnel and used it during the war, those involved in its memorialization today, and children for whom we work to preserve a culture of remembrance and memory.

Part of the exhibition was also dedicated to the future of the Tunnel D-B Memorial Complex, showcasing the conceptual design by architect Sabina Tanović, an expert in memorial architecture.

In this way, visitors to the facility had the opportunity to explore the exhibition and learn about this specific historical period of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the war that marked it.
